While pursuing better performance in business, the Bank also focused on participating and supporting undertakings concerned with the well being of the whole nation, such as culture, education, sports, disaster relief, poverty alleviation and others to perform it s ocial responsibilities.

Social Donations
To support the development of poverty-stricken areas and help relieve those hit by disasters, the Bank organized donations of more than RMB 30 Million, of which RMB 500,000 was donated to China's Paralympics Management Center by the Head Office, to support the Chinese Delegation in Beijing Paralympics 2008. The Head Office organized "Love and Warmth Project" raising donated funds of RMB 120,000, as well as quilts and wadded jackets.

Poverty Alleviation Activities
In 2007, ABC Head Office made a donation of RMB 1 million to Xian County and Wuqiang County in Hebei Province, the poverty alleviation target counties designated by the State Council. The money was given together with Farmer's Daily and other newspapers and magazines valued RMB 100,000. The Head Office also donated RMB 30,000 to ABC Hope Primary School of Xian County and Wuqiang County in Hebei Province for the purchase of computers and other teaching aids. The Bank increased poverty alleviation loans in 2007, making poverty relief interest-discount loan of RMB 3.90 billion, among which RMB 3.25 billion was regular poverty relief interest-discount loan and RMB 651 million was recovery poverty relief interest-discount loan.

Donation for Education
In 2007, the bank organized an activity called "ABC Fuyun Student Aid Project - for the Children in Border Areas", to mobilize members of the Communist Youth League (CYL) in 9 provincial branches in eastern costal China to donate money for students from poor households in the western border areas. More than RMB 1.78 million was received within two months and donated to Fuyun County, Xin Jiang Uygur Autonomous Region in supporting the NO. 1 Primary School of Keketuohai Town and the students from poor households in that area. The primary school was renamed as ABC CYL Hope Primary School.
